There are six dog breeds that are considered to have developed from Japan but of all these breeds, the Shiba Inu is recognized to be the smallest. This dog supposedly arrived in Japan in 8000 BC to 200 BC together with the ancient settlers of this country. The dog settled primarily along the mountainous regions near the Japan Sea and this is the supposed answer as to why the Shiba lives perfectly well in mountainous lands.

Studies show that pet ownership helps reduce stress, lowers blood pressure and fends off feelings of loneliness and depression. While nothing can top the love and companionship of a dog, there are some unpleasant dog behavior problems that just won’t do - from barking all night to wetting the floor to chewing on your shoes when you’re not looking.

A lot of people choose to have beagles as their family pet since beagles are known to be good house pets. Learning how to train a beagle is measured easier than training other dogs. This is because beagles are very intellectual, attentive, eager to learn, and eager to please their owners.

Originally from Brittany France, the Brittany Spaniel is well-known for being an outstanding gun dog and hunter. First appeared during the 1800’s, this creature was first officially recognized in 1938 and has gained popularity among the dog breeding world since then. Used often as a working dog during its early years, the Brittany Spaniel of today may be short of hunting tasks but its natural hunter’s heart is still intact.

There is still a lot of debate among pet owners as to whether crate training dogs is a good idea. Crating, if you’re unfamiliar with the term, is the practice of placing your dog in a cage for a period of time during the day or night. The cage is generally made from metal or plastic and is very small ” barely large enough for the dog to turn around in.

The joy of bringing a puppy home for the first time is really enjoyable. An owners first instinct is to baby the puppy because its attractive and tiny. Bear in mind though that doing such will make your dog spoiled and untrained which will cause a lot of behavior problems which will be harder to retrain as the dog is older and patterns are already recognized.

Puppy mills are the subject of great controversy for animal activists and legitimate breeders all over the United States. They are mass breeding facilities that produce numerous adorable puppies from a few mothers and studs. While there is nothing wrong with this, baby dogs raised in mills often have their puppies in deplorable conditions. Reports of puppy mills recount stories of puppies housed too many to a cage, with inadequate food, water, grooming and veterinary care.

Hunting dogs are great dogs to own. They can be great companions and very helpful if you are hunting. You don’t have to be a hunter to own a hunting dog though. The make great companions, are full of energy, and are great for people who are interested in outdoor pets. There are many species of hunting dogs to consider when you want to buy one.

There are many reasons why Golden retrievers are consistently one of the most popular choices for family pets today. This breed is exceedingly friendly and playful, making it an excellent choice with children of all ages. The dogs are also fairly bright and eager to please, making Golden retriever training worth the time and effort to teach a dog how to behave.
